I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
